CHILDREN'S MINISTRY
The Children's Ministry of Greater New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church serves youths, ages 4 to 13 and provides an environment of love and praise which lays the Biblical foundation necessary for children to choose Jesus as their Savior and Lord. The curriculum is designed to help children learn about their relationship with God, Jesus, the church, their families and God's world.
CHOIRS
Choirs at Greater New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church are the Mass Choir, General Choir, Male Chorus, Children's Choir and Women’s Chorus. It is the mission of these choirs to praise, edify, glorify and uplift God through music by setting the atmosphere during all worship and special services.
DEACONESS BOARD
Both men and women were appointed to the Deacons’ duty in the early church. In Romans 16:1 (NLT), Paul calls Phoebe a deaconess. As such, the Deaconess of Greater New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church are selected to the same highly esteemed criteria as that of Deacons.
DEACON BOARD
The Deacons of Greater New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church exercise ministry in caring for the sick and needy among our membership, the care and maintenance of the church facility and, as appropriate. They also act as counselors and assistants to the Pastor and associate ministers in advancing the spiritual welfare of the church.
EVENTS COORDINATOR
The Events Coordinator of Greater New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, in cooperation with the Pastor and church secretary, assists all ministry teams in the planning, facilitation, execution and support of all events associated with our Church.
FIRST AIDERS' BOARD
The First Aiders of Greater New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church provide first aid as necessary during services. They are trained in administering first aid and CPR, and hold the appropriate certifications.
HOSPITALITY MINISTRY
The Hospitality Ministry of Greater New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church graciously serves all by providing facility guidance and assistance with a welcoming spirit of Christ
MISSIONS
DEPARTMENT
The Missions Department of Greater New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church carries out the Great Commission of Jesus Christ through Bible studies, prayer meetings, visits to sick and shut-ins, witnessing campaigns throughout the community, food giveaways, and support of foreign Missions.
MUSIC MINISTRY COMMITTEE
The Music Ministry Committee of Greater New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, in cooperation with the Pastor and music staff, exercises general oversight of the music programs and musical/audio/visual equipment of the church.
NEW MEMBER'S MINISTRY
As required for all new members, the New Members Ministry of Greater New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church guides new members through classes focused on the theme "Discover who YOU are in CHRIST, Discover your place in the Body of Christ." Important topics such as baptism, sanctification and discipleship are strengthened through the Bible, the written Word of God.
SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE
The Scholarship Committee administers special funds provided by the Greater New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church family. Funds are awarded to eligible high school graduates and continuing college students based on need and merit.
SUNDAY SCHOOL
The Sunday School ministry of Greater New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, a fundamental source of Christian Education from Kindergarten to senior citizen, ensures the growth of every participant in Bible knowledge and faith in a safe, friendly atmosphere. Sunday School is held for one and one-half hours every Sunday morning starting at 9:30 a.m. in a welcoming environment, where all may experience the love of God and be spiritually nurtured.
USHER BOARDS
The Usher Boards of Greater New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church warmly greets and provide sanctuary guidance and set the appropriate atmosphere to ensure the best possible worship service experience, and are also available for general assistance.
WOMEN'S MINISTRY LEADERSHIP TEAM
The Women's Ministry Leadership Team of Greater New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church encourages a consistent life of faithfulness by enlightening, equipping and empowering individuals as they grow spiritually and emulate the beauty of Christ. This ministry structures and encourages participation in activities, conferences, seminars and workshops.
